Work out your own rating, on the same scale as the pros

You are not in the list, and you do not need to be. List a few matches you have played — who you played and the final score — and the same calculation that rates everyone else works out where you would sit. Your opponent has to be someone already rated, because that is what anchors you.

Who you played Your score Theirs

Start typing an opponent's name — the box suggests players as you type — then put in the score.

How this works

Your opponents already have ratings built from thousands of tournament matches. Given those, working out where you sit is a single unknown: the rating that makes your results most likely. It is the same calculation the full engine runs, solved for one player instead of the whole field.

That also means you need at least one opponent who is already rated. A result against someone nobody has measured says nothing about where either of you stands - which is the same reason a league has to connect to the wider game before its ratings mean anything outside it.

Nothing you enter is stored or sent anywhere, and none of it affects the published board. It is a calculation that happens in your browser.
